A New Rival for Botox?
After years of being the only FDA approved injectable botulism toxin, Allergen Botox™ is about to have a competitor.  Medicis Pharmaceutical, a Scottsdale based company, announced Monday, May 19, that federal regulators are reviewing their own version of the wrinkle-smoothing formula.  Reloxin™, an aesthetic injectable being developed  by Medicis and their European partner, Ipsen, has been submitted to the Food and Drug Administration for review.  They said Monday that their application has been accepted.

Medicis already sells Restylane™, an aesthetic injectable used as a dermal filler for wrinkles and folds.  The Scottsdale based company expects that Reloxin™ will have FDA approval and be ready to sell in early 2009.

High-Definition Make-up
We all love our high-definition tv's and other electronic gadgets, but high-definition cameras leave no room for imperfections when it comes to make-up!  This has been a thorn in the side of make-up artists and aficionados, so in response, make-up brands are in the process of developing high-definition make-up to accommodate our fast growing technological world!

Keft Cosmetics, developed in 2000, but launched in 2003, has become increasingly popular with make-up artists, film makers, celebrities, and tv producers.  They are among the first to jump on the high-def bandwagon.  The make-up will actually be produced in front of a high -definition camera.  Keft Cosmetics was recently commissioned by the Miss USA Pageant held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, where they designed and applied the make-up worn by pageant contestants.

Hair conditioner for the body...
It makes perfect sense!  For years we've been washing and conditioning our hair in the shower, so why neglect our bodies?  Ted Gibson, hair stylist to many of the most beautiful people in the world, has extended his expertise from our hair to our bodies by launching Ted Gibson Body.  This luxurious new line of body care can be found at Spalook.com or Sephora.

Sunscreen Celebrity Style
Colorescience's Sunforgettable SPF 30 Orb is the hottest thing under the sun to keep you cool. The puff inside offers physical, broad-spectrum sun protection with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide that will not absorb into your skin. Unlike traditional sunscreens, this non-greasy powder can be applied and be effective once the skin has already started to turn red.  Those with rosacea, eczema and other skin problems can easily use this sun protection. It is effective after skin peels, laser resurfacing and most surgical procedures (check with your physician). It will not burn your eyes or rub off on your clothes, and it keeps your skin cool.

New! Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 30 Orb. This nearly invisible breakthrough formula has made Sunforgettable a celebrity must-have.
